Took a short break

from blogging this week. It was not intentional but I was so busy I didn't have them to do it and when I did have some free time blogging was the last thing I on my mind. We have been setting up our fireworks tents for our church,it's our biggest fund raiser and this is the first year that we are having two,one for our church and one for our youth group to go to Youth Congress in Tennessee next month. We are praying it does well and we raise enough money to pay for all the youth to go so the parents won't be burdened with the bill. God will see us through.

Well I hope to be back in the land of blogging Monday. I will be scheduling some posts to be posted so I can ensure I am updating my blog so that when I get busy it's already done for me. Thanks to technology!!!

Good morning ya'll. I went out and sat on our deck this morning and had part of a cup of coffee. I wore a jacket out there because I knew it was going to be chilly. Turns out it was a bit to chilly for me to stay out there as long as I wanted to. We are heading into the normal West Virginia weather,warm days and cold nights. It will go from the 50's during the day to the 30's at night. So it makes the mornings pretty chilly.

There are signs of Spring all around us. The Easter Lillies are starting to show,I love how they look so lovely and such a nice sight from the dormant look of winter. I have been thinking about doing more landscaping around here as time and money allow. I think I may plant some Easter Lily bulbs next fall. Then we will have those lovely flowers come next Easter Lord willing.

I am also going to do container gardening mostly on our deck this year. The large garden that I love is just to much for me now. With the back surgery not long ago and have degeneration in my lower back I just can't keep up with it now. The boys help a lot and Little C loves to help momma to but they get so busy with sports that I end up doing most of the work alone and I just can't do it now. So container gardening is my answer. Easy to keep up. I'm thinking about getting a couple of those upside down containers that are for tomatoes and use one for tomatoes and one for cucumbers. If it works like I'm hoping it will, it should make dealing with the cucumbers so much easier. On top of tomatoes and cucumbers I want to plant,banana peppers,green beans,leaf lettuce, and few more that I have totally forgotten what they are. LOL My hope is to get enough gardening this way to can a few things,I'm not sure if I will or not but at least I will not be fighting all the wild life from around here like I have when planting the big plot.

We have a birthday party to go to this evening. One of the boys from our church is having a birthday and everyone is invited to attend. The boys are friends with this boy and his brother so we are going to go. It should be fun.

I've been asked to help with our youngest youth group that we call GUPPIES ages 3 - 11 on youth group night. I'm looking forward to working with the children,I love that age,they are so eager to learn about Jesus and just doing those fun little things that the older ones don't or have out grown.

Well I am just about out of time here so I'm going to close this for now.

I am determined

I am determined to get our gas,water and electricity as low as I can. I'm going to see if I can do it. I turn the heat down during the day,up for a bit a little in the evening,back down when we go to bed and up a bit in the mornings,I use only florescent bulbs, I have and he front load washer and a drier with dry sensor that shuts off when the clothes are dry so it's not running when it's not needed, I have a low flow shower head and I only run the dishwasher at night before bed, I am unplugging the things that continually use electricity even when not in use,like the computer,and modem,microwave,our lcd tv,ect. Lights are turned off unless your returning to that room right away. We have all new windows in our house and most of our rooms are well insulated and what is not is on our list. I want to insulate the floors next as well and the water pipes that are exposed in the basements as it get really cold down there.

Any more tips would be great!!!!

My simple views on eating

1.we know we need water to survive and we also know that our bodies are made up of primarily water (over 80%) so no brainier drink water.

2. whole grains help with digestion (meaning helps move the waste out) so convert eat whole grain or whole wheat pasta instead of white,the same with bread.

3. our bodies need fruit and vegetables because we need the vitamins and minerals that they contain. So do your body good and eat up.

4. animal proteins yep we need those too. It's even in the bible to eat meat. Read Exodus the pass over meal was unleavened bread and lamb.

5. dairy,yes we need it,but here's where I don't agree with most diets. We drink whole milk,why,because it's as close to raw milk as we can get where we live. Why raw milk,it has antibodies in it that our digestive system needs. Whole milk is the least process milk when compared to 2% or less.

Simplistic yet true. Once I started thinking like this, I didn't stress with diet any longer.

And the list goes on....

We have gotten one thing marked off our ever so long list of home improvments. The back porch has been redone. We still have to build part of it in and then screen it in and fix Princess up a kenel back there but the floor is done. The deck platform is done but we still have railing to put up. Then it goes on from there.

Our goal is to try to get the outside done this summer. We have some stuff here for a few of the small projects like redoing part of the side walk and steps that lead to our front door. The rest of the stuff has to be budgeted in. I'm just not sure if we will get it all done this summer or not. He wants to start on this inside this fall. OY! I've created a monster. LOL ; )

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good' But that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium
And reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and Called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness And called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline Our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power And called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbour's Possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air With profanity and Pornography and called it Freedom of speech and expression.

The response was immediate.
A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.
In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively.
The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India , Africa and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio Program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our Nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called
'One Nation Under God.

Sunny Tuesday and Last night!

Good morning everyone! Oh my what a lovely morning it is. The sun is out so bright and it's not cold out!!! Could Spring be at our door step? I hope so!

I spent most of last night at the emergency room with B. He and J were out in the front yard after dinner playing touch football. Well B decided that he would dive to get away from J since J is alot bigger and faster than he is. All of a sudden J comes running into the house saying B hurt his arm. I walked into the living room and B was coming into the house holding his arm,saying I can't move my arm. I'm like WHAT! He says it again I can't move my arm. I think I hurt my shoulder bad. I had to cut his hoodie off of him to take a look at it. And I thought it is one of two things either the he popped his shoulder out of place or he broke his collar bone. I took him to the er and they xrayed him and he broke his collar bone. He's in a sling for 6 weeks and I have to make an appointment with a bone doctor this morning for him. OY! I kept him home from school today just to give a day to do nothing but rest without any chance of someone bumping him or worse hitting his arm on purpose (kids are mean sometimes). He will go back to school tomorrow.

With all this wonderful weather I really want to hang out some laundry but can't yet. During the winter months Princess is not able to go to her play area in the yard because she gets to cold. So we tie her up and she quickly does her business and back in. And the results is a mess in the yard around where my lines are. The boys clean up her poo but it's still a mess out there. So I am waiting anxiously.

I'm going to start teaching Little C about laundry today. She is going to wash,dry,fold and put away her clothes. She's so phsyced about it. LOL She keeps asking me when are we going to mommy. So I had best get off here and get her a going on it.

Product Review/The H2O Mop

I purchased this mop along with a hand steamer that was free with purchase of the steam mop. After having it and using both items I have to say that I enjoy them both.

The mop is handy and I have hard wood floors and it cleans them beautifully. I don't use any chemicals when mopping my floors. I simply fill the water storage container,add my cover and let the steam to do the cleaning. It's light weight and easy to handle. The only down fall is that the covers are a bit expensive but you get 2 included when you purchase the mop.

The hand steamer is great for disinfecting as I'm cleaning without the use of chemicals just plain simple water.

The price of the set was 133.90 that includes taxes and shipping. If you are looking into getting something like this here's the website take a look at it and see if it's something you could use.

John called me last night on his way to work and said well I guess gas prices jumped up again. I aked how much. He started telling me the prices of stations as he was driving. The highest being 3.35 a gallon for regular unleaded. He had to get gas for my vehicle as he ha been driving to and from work most of this week due to the weather. The station he stopped at was on the cheapest and it was 3.29 a gallon. He put $50.00 in the tank and it didn't even fill it! I can't believe this,well actually I can,they have been hitting us every which way they can to make more and more of our money leak out to them so yeah I can see this.

Slumber Sunday

Good morning everyone. I'm sitting in the computer room with the lights off and having a hit cup of coffee updating my blog. I hope everyone has had a safe and happy weekend.

We are waiting for one more tax paper before we go and file this year. We are planning on paying off the 3 credit cards we have with it. I can't wait to get that off my shoulders. I hate paying payments. The next thing we are really going to focus on is the medical bills we have and then the car payment. I would love to be debt free in 2 years. Once we get the medical bills paid off which should only take 6 - 8 months (yes we have alot),this is stuff we have been paying when we had no insurance and John had cancer and I had to have major surgery. Well we have insurance now but with high deductables soooooo we still pay some but nothing like what it was like before. Once all the medical bills are payed off I am going to send in the regular car payment like always and send in an additional payment but label it APPLY TO PRINCIPLE ONLY in the subject line along with our account number. It will take some patience but we will get there.

J stayed at a buddies house over the weekend and will be back home today. He loves staying there because his friend lives in the mountains and J has always been a person that enjoys being and doing stuff outdoors.

I have been doing alot of thinking about our garden this year. I have decided to go with the raised beds with the covering over it. This is the only way we will be able to produce anything for our family. We live in an area of heavy wild life. Lots of deer,turkeys,rabbits,groundhogs,squirrels,you name it it's here. LOL They invade our garden each year no matter what we do to prevent it and each year we get very little if anything from it because of it. Sooooo this year I'm getting the plans together for the raised beds and hopefully this will do the trick.

2008

What does that mean to me? This year I decided to look at the New Year as a Fresh start. To get things going in my life. Financially,health wise,physically,you name it. If you think about it that's exactly what a new year means. A fresh start. 12 months of clean and clear months to fill in as you want. You can either fill them in with the same old negative feelings and thoughts,bad budgeting skills,ect. Or you can choose now to fill them in with positive feelings and thoughts,better budgeting skills and whatever esle is in your life and important to you. There are so many things in life that are good,this year it's my goal to focus on them and move from there. What is your goal(s) for 2008? Lets make it the year of years!!!!

Well the new year is now appon us,what is your resolution. Mine is the same as always.

1.start our 5 year plan
2.put our health on the front burner and keep it there
3.start crafting more and maybe get into a craft show and sell some of my stuff
4. start Christmas shopping for this year early
